Man sues dentist for punctured bowel

Stephen James of Hamilton, Massachusetts has filed a half a million dollar lawsuit against a dentist who allegedly dropped a foreign object into the man’s throat, eventually puncturing the man’s bowel.

Mr. James visited Dr. Priti Amlani in 2008 for restorative work on two crowns on his upper teeth. During the procedure the said he felt something hit is tongue while the dentist was removing a hardened molding.

Joanne Baker, D.D.S.,51, was arraigned on a 13-count indictment charging her with grand larceny, insurance fraud, scheme to defraud and falsifying business records, all felonies.

Dr. Baker is accused of fraudulently billing Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. (MetLife) for $13,000 over a 2 year starting in September 2006. About 18 patients came forward in 2008 to say Baker had billed MetLife for dental services she never provided.

Poligrip 200A Texas man has filed a lawsuit against GlaxoSmithKline alleging that Super PoliGrip denture adhesive has caused his neuropathy. GSK has been hit with many lawsuits claiming that the zinc-containing denture cream causes neuropathy, zinc poisoning, and copper depletion.
