A 4-year-old girl died August 14th after a dental procedure at a Tulsa, OK dental clinic. Akasmse Rose Tecumseh is one of six pediatric patients who have died in the past 16 months in the U.S. while undergoing dental treatment.

51-year-old dentist Thomas Grams was remembered this weekend after being killed in Afghanistan. Grams was among a team of doctors gunned down by Taliban fighters Aug. 5 about 160 miles north of Kabul.
Grams gave up his practice about four years ago to help poor children in Afghanistan, India and Nepal. Laurie Mathews, co-director of Global Dental Relief, estimated Grams served 24,000 children during several dozen trips.

51-year-old Kathy Salazar was sentenced in Superior Court to one year in prison and seven years probation for felony insurance fraud.
Salazar pleaded guilty to submitting false insurance claims for dental procedures that were never performed and then pocketing the insurance checks. Salazar was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and $88,408 in restitution to a St. Johns’ dentist she worked for more than 28 years.

Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s partial set of dentures were purchased for 15,200 pounds ($23,723) at a London auction July 29.
