Dentist’s Anesthesia Permit Suspended After Overdose

The West Virginia Board of Dental Examiners has suspended Dr. Charles Wylie’s permit to administer any sedation or anti-anxiety agents after his patient was hospitalized for 3 days. Wylie allegedly gave a man 17 Halcion (Triazolam) 0.25 milligram tablets during a five-hour procedure on July 29, resulting in an overdose. The normal Halcion dosing is 1 tablet before a procedure with a maximum recommended dose of 0.5mg.

Dr. Wylie license to practice dentistry has not been suspended. Read more about this story here.
