New Product: gumEase Injection-Free Anesthetic Device
For those people frightened of needles there is a new FDA-approved product out by Olympic Dental & Medical Devices called gumEase G100. It is basically a frozen mouth piece that blocks maxillofacial nerve impulses (blocks pain) by chilling/freezing them. They claim it can be used for procedure and post-procedure pain control.
Each mouthpiece costs about $10. The mouthpiece needs to be replaced every 3-4 minutes with a fresh one until desired anesthesia is achieved (usually 2-3 mouthpieces).
This product maybe useful for patients with cardiac/other health conditions or allergic reactions to traditional dental anesthesia. Another possible usefulness can be pain control after adjustment of traditional orthodontics.
What do you think?
