Survey: Most Americans unprepared to handle dental emergencies
In a national survey conducted by Majestic Drug Company, a provider of oral care products found that Americans are not prepared to deal with dental emergencies. Of 1,000 people surveyed, 72 percent have fillings or crowns and one in six had a dental emergency during the past 12 months.
People making less than $35,000 per year were more likely to have had a dental emergency in the past 12 months compared to people in high income levels. Of those who had a dental emergency, 23 percent involved a loose crown, 10 percent involved a lost filling, while 72 percent said their dental emergency involved something else.
