Lawsuit: 19-year-old suffered brain damage during dental extraction

A 19-year-old from Lawrence Kansas has filed a lawsuit seeking damages after suffering brain damage during a dental procedure.

The lawsuit alleges that oxygen and nitrous oxide lines were crossed during design and construction of Dr. Kirk Vincent’s new office. It also alleges the city, during inspections of the office, should have caught the problem.

A woman filed a lawsuit against a dental chain who she claimed caused permanent injury by placing an ill-fitting dental bridge that contained toxic levels of lead. Faye Lewis filed the suit against Aspen Dental and two of their dentists for negligence.

She claims her jaw now slips out of place, swells and her teeth don’t meet.  She now wears a special appliance for TMJ disorder.

Michigan lawsuit tries to save adult dental Medicaid

A few weeks after a Michigan woman’s death was blamed on her untreated periodontitis, a Michigan lawyer has filed a lawsuit to try to block the state’s termination of adult dental Medicaid benefits. The suit was filed by Gary Gordon in U.S. District Court on behalf of 400,000 Michigan Medicaid beneficiaries who lost their access to dental care when the governor canceled the benefit in July.

Man sues dentist for punctured bowel

Stephen James of Hamilton, Massachusetts has filed a half a million dollar lawsuit against a dentist who allegedly dropped a foreign object into the man’s throat, eventually puncturing the man’s bowel.

Mr. James visited Dr. Priti Amlani in 2008 for restorative work on two crowns on his upper teeth. During the procedure the said he felt something hit is tongue while the dentist was removing a hardened molding.
