UPDATE: Mom convicted over lack of dental care for son

The Washington woman who was convicted of second-degree criminal mistreatment for not seeking dental care for her developmentally disabled 10-year-old son was sentenced to nine months in jail on Monday. She will serve three months of the sentence in custody, then go on electronic home monitoring for the rest of the term.
The boy has been in foster care since 2008. The state is in the process to terminate Carter’s parental rights.

It’s so sad to hear of things like this happenening every day. Many people just don’t realise how important dental treatment really is.

That is very unfortunate. Dental treatment is extremely important. It cannot be left untreated for it might result into something more serious.
